Stop and make it safe
Pull over if you can, switch on your hazards. Turn off the engine. Don't drive on if it isn't safe.

Check everyone is OK
If anyone is hurt, or the road is blocked, call 999. Your safety comes before anything else.

Don't admit fault
Stay calm and don't say the accident was your fault, even as a courtesy. Let the details decide that.

Swap details
Get the other driver's name, number, registration and insurer. Give yours. Note any witnesses.

Photograph everything
Take photos and video of the damage, both cars, number plates, the road and any injuries. The more the better.
