Widebody Porsche 911.
One of our own builds, taken from a bare, rusty shell to a finished show car: a bespoke widebody conversion, custom paint and forged wheels, all done under our roof. Drag the slider to see it.
After Before Drag to compare A shell, brought back.
This one came in as bare metal and left as a show car. The whole restoration, stage by stage.
-
What we started with
A shell. Stripped to bare metal, corrosion showing, every panel and every bit of trim off it. Everything after this is built back up from here.
-
Arches, made not bought
The arches are fabricated and riveted on by hand, one at a time, each shaped to follow the body's own lines rather than sit proud of them.
-
By hand, panel by panel
Hours of shaping and finishing per arch. There's no shortcut to this bit, and it's the difference between a widebody that looks made and one that looks bolted on.
-
Vents and detail
Mesh, vents and the smaller details fabricated to match, so the finished car reads as one piece.
-
Getting it sitting right
Ride height and fitment dialled in on the wheels it'll wear, checking clearance through the full range of travel rather than just parked.
-
Filler and primer
Bodywork flatted back over and over until the reflections run straight. Primer is where the paint job is really decided.
-
Into the booth
Masked, tacked off and into the booth. Every shut line and edge opened up so the colour goes everywhere the eye can reach.
-
Base coat
Base down. The colour chosen for the car is a deep metallic that needs this ground underneath it to give it any depth.
-
The colour arrives
Aubergine over the top, then lacquer, flatted and polished. It reads near-black in shade and turns violet the moment light hits it.
-
Finished
Back together and out on the show floor, on gold BBS. A long way from the shell it came in as.
From a shell to a show car.
It's the same craft that goes into an everyday insurance repair, taken all the way. Fabrication, paint and finishing to a standard you'd expect on a stand, not just in a claims workshop, which is exactly why our repair work comes back to manufacturer standard.
- Built from bare metalThis wasn't a bolt-on job. The 911 was stripped right back and built up from there, in-house, start to finish.
- Bespoke widebodyA custom widebody conversion, arches fabricated and blended so the car sits properly over the wheels.
- Custom paintFinished in a deep candy colour, mixed and laid down in-house to a show standard.
- Wheels & stanceBronze forged wheels and a slammed stance to pull the whole look together.
